Never has Coronation Street been more topical.  The Underworld factory is at risk of financial ruin.  The owners of their main client, the O’Driscoll’s have been arrested for imprisoning a young Polish girl, Marta, and using her as unpaid housekeeper/servant.

But behind the fictional storyline lies a serious issue which will affect many businesses.  Large commercial organisations are required to publicly state each year the action they have taken to ensure their business and supply chains are slavery free, or that they have taken no such steps.
